I’m getting really excited because today we’ve shared the cover for my upcoming folk horror story collection Mistress of Geese with the world.
And it’s fabulous.
The cover photo is made by my dear friend Mojca Brenko-Puzak. She talked about folk horror before it was cool (which means before Midsommar). I had to pick from set of photos she made for me and it was truly hard. But I felt like this one fit the atmosphere of my stories the most. That unsettling mood, the way trees feel suffocating, how something isn’t quite right with the woman.
Yeah, this is definitely the perfect cover. Now I just hope my stories will live up to it.
Mistress of Geese is set to be published on the winter solstice 2020 at Shtriga Books.
